SmartIntern: Sepsis 2016 1.1

The recent changes proposed by The Third International Consensus and published in JAMA in February 23, 2016 have updated the definition of sepsis, transitioning from the outdated SIRS criteria to the more clinically relevant Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score. In alignment with these advancements, SmartIntern has introduced a comprehensive medical analyzer to aid in sepsis identification at the point of care. By incorporating established algorithms derived from current literature, SmartIntern's user-friendly approach reflects its commitment to evidence-based practice.

• An update was made on March 13th to enhance the treatment section based on recommendations by the Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC) Executive Committee following the new sepsis definition.
• The app now provides the ICD10 code for severe sepsis (R65.20) for cases meeting the criteria of the revised sepsis definition as outlined in JAMA 2016.
• Various minor bug fixes have been implemented for improved usability and accuracy.
